What Is SMART Certification?
SMART dentistry stands for Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique. Dr. Indah is SMART certified through the International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT). Because removing amalgam fillings can release additional mercury vapor, safe removal is essential!

Will I Have A White Filling After My Amalgam Is Removed?
Depending on the age and size of your silver mercury filling, Dr. Indah may opt to replace it with a natural, metal-free, tooth-colored filling.
If the amalgam is particularly large or it has caused the tooth to crack, a tooth crown may be a more stable alternative.

For me Dental Arts is the best place where they have helped me during the intimate 28 years previously with Dr. McEvoy and now with Dr. Van I took absolute faith especially 3 years ago when I experienced a terrible infection and called him to help me and to Even though he was at an important conference in Gilroy, and with that way of speaking and transmitting calm, he told me “I'm an hour away from my office, I'll leave the conference and we'll meet in an hour.” He helped me with my pain. All the people there are so kind and nice, always trying to help. I remember Susi as many years ago as when I started going there.Congratulations, you are a fabulous team.
Had a great experience with my hygenist and really liked Dr. Van. While I agree with some other reviewers that while it was expensive ( I am pretty sure it was not my network), I had heard great things and was about to move forward on Invisalign treatment.Then I got a bill for past service (weird, I know I paid at the time of the work being done). When I called to inquire I was notified my insurance was capped out and thus it was my responsibility. Make complete sense and I paid the owed amount.Here is my frustration. I have only been to this office this year. They had the details of my insurance and in my past dental office experiences, I have always had front office staff who helped me understand (ahead of time), my insurance, and would cover and what my costs would be. While I understand that estimates do change, a swing of over $500 in client responsible fees, based on my insurance running out for the year, should have been identified, communicated, and a backup plan discussed when it was caught that a new plan not accounting for insurance would need to be discussed.What really bothers me is that what was left on my insurance should have been identified at the time of my dental plan being created. Assuming that a mistake was made and caught, I was never told there was an error on the estimate, I just received a $550 bill with no explanation on why the adjustment was made. Plain and simple, not sure I can trust the staff at theDo not recommend this location. The front desk was not competent with my account and I do not have confidence that they are on top of client accounts.Update:I want to take a moment to update my review of Dental Arts of Mountain View. I received a call today that I really appreciated. Sheila took the time to LISTEN to me and ensure I felt heard before we hung up. She went out of her way to make sure my experience ended positively with their staff and organization. I will say that worked and I appreciate her taking the time to connect. Such a lovely place for me and my teeth! The staff is always so friendly and welcoming, they always remember me and ask about my family, the whole facility is immaculate, and while they recommend options they never try to push extra services on me. Excellent and professional care for replacement of two crowns by Dr. Van and his able assistant, Lo. Clear explanations as he proceeded, Dr. Van's manner was warm, reassuring and expert. I am squeamish about dental care, and they made me feel so safe, calm and reassured. I am happy to recommend the entire office.
Amber did a meticulous prophy and was very gentle. She identified and photographed a gazillion glitches in my teeth, so we have a visual and radiographic baseline. Dr. Indah has done an amazing job creating an appliance to address my sleep apnea caused by my four bicuspid extractions as a child for braces. My sleep apnea is entirely resolved.Thanks to a great team.
I have been coming here for 10 years. But the practice has changed - they only seem to care about volume and keep assigning me a different hygenist every time I visit - she didn't even know my name this last time. Surly, bossy, condescending too, when I requested a much less invasive X-ray schedule as per ADA guidelines for people with no known dental issues. There are some great people here but management is out of touch with patient care and management. I'm out.

Dr. Indah is one of the best dentists I've ever seen. In particular, her expertise on sleep apnea combined with dentistry skill has been incredibly useful for developing my strategies to deal with aging teeth and apnea.
