Meet Dr. John Van, DDS
Dr. Van was born and raised in the Bay Area and has remained in the community for most of his life. He received a full academic scholarship to the University of California, Los Angeles, for outstanding achievement in high school. After earning his BS in psychobiology, he attended one of the top clinical dental training programs in the country at the University of the Pacific, Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry in San Francisco.
Dr. Van’s true passion for dentistry shines through in his volunteer work. He is a volunteer with Operation Smile, a medical charity providing dental, cleft lip, and palate repair surgeries to children around the world. With this altruistic background, Dr. Van brings an extraordinary amount of compassion and empathy to his patients. His humanitarian work is what brought him to join Dental Arts of Mountain View, where Dr. Van provides care to the community he knows and loves.
Dr. Van has been placing implants and providing cosmetic dentistry since 2011. He is an outstanding clinician who brings expertise in CEREC cad-cam dentistry, endodontics, implant dentistry, and oral surgeries for our patients.
Meet Dr. Ratna Indah, DMD, FAGD
Dr. Ratna Indah, graduated from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine with honors; she was an intern at The Gelb TMJ Center and a tutor during her dental school years. She has attained Fellowship Status with the Academy of General Dentistry; to earn Fellowship in the AGD, dentists must take more than 500 hours of education courses in various disciplines. Candidates must also pass a rigorous exam before the award is then presented in a formal ceremony. Ratna Indah, Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique, FAGD is one of only 6 percent of general dentists who have achieved this honor. To learn more about this award or the AGD, visit www.agd.org.
Dr. Indah believes in a proactive, preventative approach to dental care, as an active member of International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology (IAOMT), she is also passionate about the whole-body approach in her dentistry
Dr. Ratna Indah is proudly the first dentist in the Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, San Jose area to be SMART Certified (Smart Amalgam Removal Technique) and is an Accreditation Candidate through the AIAOMT. SMART-certification signifies that a dentist has completed the AIAOMT’s educational program related to dental amalgam mercury removal. She regularly takes Continuing Education courses to keep up with advances in dentistry such as Invisalign, TMJ, Advanced Laser Therapy, Comprehensive Implant Restoration, and sleep apnea alternatives to CPAP. She is a passionate supporter of airway centric facial growth and has passionately advocated for Myofunctional Therapy, Breastfeeding Education, and Tethered Oral Tissue/Tongue Tie intervention. She works closely with Myofunctional Therapists, Epigenetics Orthodontics Practitioners, Osteopaths, Chiropractors, Naturopaths, Nutritionists, and other Allied Health Professionals that support whole-body health.
Dr. Indah enjoys cooking and traveling the world with her family. Her favorite vacation spots are Bali, Netherlands, and Australia. Meet Dr. Theresa Ta, DDS
Although born in Des Moines, Iowa, Dr. Theresa Ta spent most of her upbringing in San Jose, California. As a true local, she attended San Jose State University, where she graduated at the top of her class with a Bachelor of Science in Molecular Biology. Dr. Ta continued her educational journey at the prestigious UCLA School of Dentistry, where she obtained her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree.
After completing her dental degree, Dr. Ta pursued advanced training in cosmetic dentistry through various courses and seminars. She is an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) and is dedicated to staying current with the latest advancements in dental aesthetics.
Dr. Ta’s expertise includes a wide range of restorative and cosmetic dental procedures such as composite/porcelain veneers, dental bonding/Bioclear, crowns, Invisalign and Botox. She believes in taking a personalized approach to each patient’s needs, ensuring that they receive the best possible care and results that exceed their expectations. Dr. Ta combines artistry, advanced technology, and her warm, empathetic nature to create a welcoming and comfortable environment for her patients. She is known for her gentle touch and her ability to put even the most anxious patients at ease.
In her spare time, Dr. Ta loves spending time with her family (including her cat, Pepper), exploring the outdoors, and traveling to experience new cultures.
Meet Dr. Joseph Field, DDS
DDS, FAGD, FAAID, FICOI, DABOI/ID
Dr. Joseph Field is a native of the Bay Area. He loves all it’s beauty and diversity and is delighted that his career path has brought him home to the peninsula. Dr. Field is a respected leader in the field of cosmetic and implant dentistry. He is a caring provider unafraid to tackle extreme smile makeovers, and capable of compassionately guiding anxious patients to a smile that changes their lives. Care is the cornerstone of Dr. Field’s vision and practice. He is dedicated to providing the highest quality care that focuses on the patient experience, meticulously and individually designed for each patient.
Dr. Field’s dental education and experience are both vast and specialized, spanning two dedicated decades. He earned a B.S. in Physiology from Brigham Young University. His first exposure to dentistry came while on a service mission to Columbia where he observed the work of Operation Smile dentists. There he saw lives changed for the better and he came home intent on helping to do the same.
Dr. Field continued his studies at the University of Southern California School of Dentistry. In sunny southern California, Dr. Field acquired a love of USC Football, a hatred for L.A. traffic, and most importantly, trained at a perennially top ranked U.S. dental school known for pioneering new techniques and conducting groundbreaking research. Dr. Field distinguished himself during his studies, winning awards and scholarships, and being elected president of the highest national leadership position in dental education.
Upon graduation from USC, Dr. Field was thrilled to return home to Los Altos and partner at the Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry. Dr. Field’s education, experience, and focus on patient care ensure client comfort and optimal clinical outcomes with a wide range of cosmetic dental services and procedures, including smile makeover, implant reconstruction, full mouth reconstruction, Invisalign, and Zoom! whitening treatment. Patients agree that Dr. Field’s advanced dental care has transcended beyond services and procedures to an artform where anxieties are eased, and stellar dental outcomes are expected in a caring, professional, and spa-like setting.
Dr. Field’s education formed a foundation of knowledge and skill that he continues to build on. Today, Dr. Field is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral Implantology/Implant Dentistry and holds the highest level of competence in implant dentistry as a DABOI/ID Diplomate. His expertise has been featured in dental journals, seminars and speaking engagements, and as a guest faculty member at USC where he now teaches new dentists about full mouth rehabilitation and IV sedation courses. Dr. Field is also passionate about giving back to those who deserve it most. Each Veterans Day, the Peninsula Center of Cosmetic Dentistry opens its doors to Bay Area veterans to provide them with more than $20,000 worth of dental care.
Dr. Field counts himself lucky to call Los Altos home, and even luckier to care for people in a community he loves. Outside his work hours, Dr. Field spends time with his beautiful wife, Meg, and their four busy kids. He enjoys playing basketball, attending sporting events, and breathing the pure mountain air on the slopes, water, and golf courses of Lake Tahoe.
Meet Dr. Scott Oh, DDS
Dr. Scott Oh is a compassionate provider whose practice philosophy merges art with medicine to craft healthy, radiant smiles that inspire confidence and promote oral health for his patients. Through thoughtful comprehensive treatment planning and utilization of the finest materials, Dr. Oh and his team of Master Ceramists work hand in hand to create beautiful, healthy smiles tailor made for each patient to achieve natural aesthetic facial harmony.
With his welcoming smile and friendly demeanor, Dr. Oh takes great care to foster genuine human connections with his patients and strives to establish an environment that puts their anxieties at ease. He understands each patient is unique and places the utmost importance in providing a personalized dentistry experience. In addition to taking great pride in his clinical abilities, Dr. Oh finds joy and fulfillment in the friendships he forms with his patients along the way.
Dr. Oh was born and raised in Orange County, CA where he developed his love for sunshine and warm weather. He chose to stay in Southern California as he pursued his B.S. in Human Biology from the University of California, Los Angeles. While at UCLA, he served as a research associate in the Oral Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the UCLA School of Dentistry. He also participated in Operation Smile, a volunteer nonprofit organization that raises funds to provide underserved communities with procedures to address congenital cleft lip and palate defects.
Dr. Oh continued his education by earning his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in San Francisco. Dr. Oh then continued his career in the United States Army, where he received advanced clinical training in multiple specialties including prosthodontics, periodontics, and endodontics. With this advanced training, along with his knowledge of digital dental technology and Invisalign® orthodontics, Dr. Oh focuses his practice in aesthetic dentistry, smile rejuvenation and Cerec® CADCAM Restorative Dentistry.
In his free time, Dr. Oh enjoys skiing, mountain biking, surfing and camping. He aspires to travel the world to experience different cultures and taste all the foods they have to offer.
